Privacy notice

This notice covers getspoked.io and its sign-up forms. The spoked app will have its own notice when it launches.

Who we are

SPOKED TECHNOLOGIES LTD, company number 17485032, registered office 124-128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. We decide how and why your personal data is used, which makes us the data controller. Contact us at [email protected].

What we collect

When you join the list:

  • your email address;
  • the first part of your postcode, down to the sector, for example SW18 2. Your full postcode never leaves your device, so we never receive it;
  • if you are signing up as a Spoke, the repairs you tell us you can do, if you choose to say;
  • the date and time you signed up, and which version of the sign-up wording you saw.

Like any website, our host Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details to deliver the pages and protect the site from attack. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website. We do not add that to our list and we do not use it to identify you.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

We rely on your consent, which you give by submitting the form.

  • Riders: to email you once, when spoked opens near you.
  • Spokes: to contact you about becoming a Spoke before we open in your area.

We use it for nothing else. We do not sell it, rent it or share it for anyone else’s marketing. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing [email protected], and we will delete your details. Withdrawing does not affect anything we did before.

You do not have to join the list. If you don’t, nothing changes: you can still use spoked when it opens. We make no automated decisions about you.

How long we keep it

  • Riders: until we have emailed you about launch, or 12 months after you signed up, whichever comes first.
  • Spokes: until you become a Spoke, you ask us to delete your details, or 12 months after you signed up, whichever comes first.

Who handles it for us

These companies process your data on our instructions and for no purpose of their own:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. hosts this website and holds the sign-up list in an EU data centre region.
  • Google Cloud EMEA Limited, with its parent company Google LLC, provides our email, which we use to write to you and to receive your messages.

We may also disclose data if the law requires it. Nobody else sees it.

Transfers outside the UK

The sign-up list is stored in the European Union. UK law treats transfers to EU countries as approved (Data Protection Act 2018, Schedule 21).

Cloudflare and Google may also process your data in other countries, including the United States, for example when a page is delivered to you or an email passes through Google’s systems. UK law approves transfers to US companies certified under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (the Data Protection (Adequacy) (United States of America) Regulations 2023), and Cloudflare, Inc. and Google LLC are both certified. If that stops applying, both use the EU standard contractual clauses with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum issued by the Information Commissioner. Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, or to move it to someone else. You can withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected]. It is free, and we will reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm you own the email address first.

You can also object to us using your data for our legitimate interests, such as keeping this website working and secure.

You can object at any time to us using your details for marketing. If you do, we will stop and delete them.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to us at [email protected]. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it, and tell you the outcome without undue delay. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies and has no analytics or advertising trackers. It loads nothing from other websites: the fonts, map and scripts all come from getspoked.io. If that ever changes, we will ask you first.

Age

spoked is for people aged 18 or over. Please do not use the forms if you are younger.

Changes

If we change this notice we will update the date above. If a change affects how we use your data, we will ask for your consent again.
